MHS Testing and Standards

Our mission at MHS is to produce the world's highest quality Mad Honey, while meeting leading global standards in sustainable sourcing and fair trade practices. We work directly with the Honey Hunters of local tribes in Nepal and the generational bee keepers of eastern Turkey to make Mad Honey commercially available, while respecting the environment and local cultures.

Every harvest of Mad Honey is tested in a state-of-the-art laboratory to guarantee there are no unwanted pesticides, molds, bacteria or other contaminants which could cause health concerns. Testing services are provided by ACS Labs, operators of the largest independent testing lab in the USA. Through our partnership, we have created the world's only Mad Honey database to further study the effects.

After testing, Mad Honey is packaged into honey sticks to ensure uniform consistency. Each honey stick is measured to the perfect serving size of 5 grams. Improperly packaged jars of honey can lead to inconsistent servings of the active ingredients in Mad Honey.

The magical effects of Mad Honey are the result of naturally occurring chemical compounds called grayanotoxins. While that scientific name of grayanotoxins may sound negative, Mad Honey has been used in holistic medicine from Africa to China, effects which have been noted in modern medical studies, but are not specifically endorsed by the American FDA.
